About Middle East Progress
About
Middle East Progress helps develop and highlight practical approaches and voices to managing – and resolving – the Arab-Israeli conflict with a primary focus on achieving a sustainable, secure, democratic Palestinian state alongside sustainable, secure, and democratic Israel. We believe such action will improve U.S., Israeli, and regional security, and America’s global standing, and reflects the will and aspirations of a vast majority of Israelis and Arabs living the conflict every day.
Projects
- Publishing the Middle East Bulletin — Importing the robust debate that occurs in Israel and the region to the United States and around the world, through the Middle East Bulletin. The Bulletin, produced three times a week, includes a news digest from journalists covering the region, analyses from Middle East experts and organizations, reports from events in the region and in the U.S., and original commentary;
- Promoting Public-Private Partnerships — Expanding and strengthening the actors invested in achieving a stable and sustainable political outcome, through practical innovative private-public partnerships such as:
- Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) task force we lead, to create a political risk insurance fund intended to help remove obstacles to investment and trade in the Palestinian territories;
- Middle East Investment Initiative, (MEII), which is partnering with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and the Palestinian Investment Fund (PIF) to create a $160 million loan guarantee facility (the Facility) to increase Palestinian business’ access to financing, technical assistance, and market information needed to grow, create jobs, and improve and create production capacity.
- Encouraging New Ideas and Strategies — Bringing together from around the world and across the country those who can most effectively shape the policy dynamic on security and economic issues, by hosting meetings, panels and conferences, to discuss ideas, create new approaches, and strategize on how best to implement them within and across borders.
