Netanyahu Says Israel Won’t Stop Its Construction in Jerusalem

Israel won’t cease construction in Jerusalem that was the center of a dispute this month with the U.S., Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said of the eve of a White House meeting with President Barack Obama. …

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the pro-Israel group that Israeli settlement construction in areas sought by Palestinians “exposes daylight between Israel and the United States that others in the region could hope to exploit.” She also said that the building “undermines America’s unique ability to play a role—an essential role, I might add—in the peace process.” Clinton and Netanyahu also met yesterday.
