Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh held talks Saturday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit, who stressed his country’s support for Yemen at an upcoming London conference.
“We will provide all political support for Yemen at this meeting,” Gheit said at a news conference in Sana’a, where he and Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman met with Saleh. Egypt and the rest of the Arab states “will stand with Yemen in this meeting” and back any mechanism agreed upon to provide it “political, economic and security support,” he added.
