Arab heads of state gathered in Doha for the launching of the 21st annual Arab Summit on Monday. … [The] session … closed with the signing of the Doha Declaration, a six- point document drafted by Saudi Arabia, which stressed the need to set a timeframe for Israel to meet its peace initiative commitments, especially with regard to the Arab Peace Initiative, put forward by the Saudi king in 2002.
Lebanese President Suleiman called for adding “the Shebaa Farms, Kfar Shouba [Hills] and the village of Ghajar” to the final item on occupied territories in the declaration, which mentioned Lebanon without specifying any names. Also during his address to summit participants, President Sleiman called for “a comprehensive Arab strategy” to confront challenges and emphasized the need to protect the Resistance.
