Israeli Brigadier General (res.) Gadi Zohar, board of directors, Israel’s Council for Peace and Security and former head of the Civil Administration in the West Bank, interview with Americans for Peace Now, March 7, 2008:
“We have to do what we can do in order to strengthen the Palestinian Authority, Abu Mazen authority in the West Bank which means one, by the way of negotiating and seriously negotiating with them and helping them, and on the other hand … do some things on the ground in order that the Palestinians in the West Bank and the Palestinians that are supporting peace, or realizing that there should be a kind of two-state solution in this area, so that they will continue and they will see some kind of light in the future, and this means that we have to do what we can do to ease the daily life of the Palestinians, which is not easy but we are not doing enough.”
